Yes, we are lucky. But so are you

Earlier this summer, while on an adventurous mountain bike ride, I had one of those “you’re so lucky to live here” encounters with an out-of-state visitor. These are very commonplace for those of us who actually do live in the incredibly beautiful Gunnison Country. We’ve all had them.

While on a remote, high and gorgeous stretch of the Continental Divide Trail situated somewhere along the Gunnison-Chaffee county border, my riding buddy and I came upon a “through hiker.” He’d been on the trail for weeks, northbound from the bottom of New Mexico. He was in awe.
