Western, community need a date night

How is the relationship between Western State Colorado University and Gunnison? What’s the status of the proverbial “Town and Gown” interplay between the university — its students, faculty and staff — and the citizens, businesses and public leaders of this community?

This is not a new question. Variations of it have surfaced probably since the beginning of this relationship between a state institution of higher education and this remote, out-of-the way mountain hamlet, back in the dawn of the 20th century.
