Endurance mountain bike racing returns to Hartman’s

The newly formed gO Initiative and Romp Skis have joined forces to bring endurance mountain bike racing back to Hartman Rocks Recreation Area. Modeled loosely after the former 24 Hours in the Sage, the inaugural 12-hour Romp In the Rocks is slated for Oct. 7.

gO Initiative is a nonprofit spinoff of Griggs Orthopedics, which in recent years has sponsored numerous athletes in the Gunnison Valley and worked to promote a myriad of endurance sports through clinics and races. gO also has worked with Romp Skis on the development of lightweight randonee equipment for use by sponsored athletes.
