‘Why?’ absent in public lands pitch

You still see them around the valley: pick-up trucks adorning a tell-tale, diagonal red line through the words “Hidden Gems.” Three years after the campaign that sought to designate additional wilderness here and elsewhere across the state fell silent, some refuse to let their disdain for the granola-munching, sandal-wearing bunch that they envision as the masterminds behind Hidden Gems subside. Or something like that.
