The city’s communication conundrum

No matter how strong an idea is in the minds of government leaders, without public acceptance it’s bound to fail. The City of Gunnison’s Complete Streets initiative last year proved as much.

Could stronger communication between city leaders and constituents have resulted in less knee-jerk opposition to the Complete Streets plan to revamp city streetscapes? Councilors think so and are looking to a hire a point person to help improve relations with the public.
