It wasn’t pretty, but at least it’s over

There were a lot of surprises in Tuesday’s election, with a major mood swing showing up in high-profile races statewide and throughout the nation. For me, perhaps the biggest surprise came about 8:30 p.m. when I walked across the street to the Blackstock Government Building to find the ladies in the elections office turning off the lights. I was told that they were done counting for the night and that local results wouldn’t be available until sometime on Wednesday.
