Service worth diving into

Not an hour into a grand opening party for a new deck at the pond north of Gunnison Community School Tuesday, and the group of eighth graders gathered for the ceremony began scaling the railing to dive into the murky waters.

It may have looked like kids being kids — left with little excitement and they’ll create some of their own. But these students had reason to celebrate, and did so, with a splash, from the structure they created.
