‘Integrated behavioral health’ yields positive results in first year

Health professionals have long believed there is a connection between mind and body — meaning our mental health can play a role in our physical health. Yet, patients tend to seek a doctor's help when suffering from a physical illness or injury, while overlooking the need for emotional or psychological care.
In the last year, Gunnison Valley Health (GVH) has partnered with the Center for Mental Health (CFMH) to identify behavioral needs through primary care physicians. The effort is in response to a 2016 Community Health Needs Assessment.
