Marian Elaine Kerr Rogers Cribari
Marian Elaine Kerr Rogers Cribari, passed away on Friday, Sept. 22, 2017 in Gunnison, Colo. due to complications of COPD. She was 71. Marian was born August 14, 1946 in Gunnison, Colo. to Bill and Wilma Kerr. She graduated from Gunnison High School in 1964. Marian began working for Gunnison Valley Hospital when she was 16 years old as an aide. She did briefly work for Mangum Glass, but returned to GVH where she worked in Sterile Processing and Central Supply until she retired in 2014. She married Roy Rogers in April 1966. They had a daughter, Barbara Rogers Rider (Shane) who was born in July 1969. Roy and Marian divorced in 1973. She remarried in 1976 to Jim Cribari giving her a step son, Michael (Nyla). Jim and Marian divorced in 1984. Marian had a great sense of humor and she was very independent. She is remembered for her love of baseball and her team the Rockies. Marian loved to crochet, do craft projects, bowling, taking care of her cats (Luna and Solo), watching kids' movies and Harry Potter. She enjoyed listening to music (especially Rod Stewart and Neil Diamond). Her family remembers her as being the best aunt she could be to her nieces and nephew and spending time with her grandchildren. More recently she was an active volunteer at the Pioneer Museum and enjoyed having lunch with her friends at Young at Heart. Marian is survived by her sister, Jeannie Thornberry (Tom) of Craig, Colo. Jeannie's son Erik Holt (Lennie) of Denver, Colo. Sister Margaret Kerr-Tidd (Josh) of Gunnison, Colo. Margaret's daughters Roxanne and Katrina Kerr of Portland, Ore. Daughter, Barbara Rider (Shane) their daughters Halle and Hayden Rider of Gunnison, Colo. Step Son, Michael Cribari (Nyla) of Gunnison, Colo. Michael's daughter Anastasia Cribari of Gunnison, Colo. and Michael's son Trenton Cribari of Gunnison, Colo. Aunt Betty Gray of Montrose, Colo. and seven cousins and their families. Marian is also survived by extended family: Melissa Rogers, Matt Messner, (Carson, Calvin and Amelia). Dottie and Rick Williams. Frankie and Steph Williams (Scarlett, Emma and Luella). TJ and Kylie Williams (Lane). Diane and Tom Williams. Chris and Paula Worthington (Tiffany (Christopher and Michael) and Libby (Russell)). Kristine and Lance Weiszbrod (Colton and Jordyn). Jason and Connie Loy (Abby, Kinley and Kacey). Marian is preceded in death by her parents and long time companion of 17 years, Ernie Davis. A memorial service will be held on Friday, Oct. 6 at 11 a.m. at the Fred Field Western Heritage Building, with a lunch reception to follow. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Marian's life.
