Nancy Jo Hollenbeck Rundell

Nancy Jo Hollenbeck Rundell, 78, of Salida died Feb. 8. She was born Nov. 12, 1936, to Matt and Mildred Hollenbeck. She was the first of eight children. She married E.W. “Fritz” Rundell Sept. 7, 1958, in Gunnison. They owned and operated F-N Western Store before moving to Salida in 1963. They were involved in numerous businesses over the course of their lives. Mrs. Rundell was an avid supporter of rodeo and 4-H in Chaffee County for many years. She enjoyed attempting new craft projects and loved practical jokes. Friends and family said love for family was very important to her. Mrs. Rundell was preceded in death by her husband; parents; grandson Cody Buffalo; brother Dan Hollenbeck; and sisters Mary Loop, Virginia Crone and Ruthie McConnell. Survivors include her daughter Trish Buffalo of Salida; son Darrell (Bonnie) Rundell of Weatherford, Texas; grandsons Trey and Ty Buffalo of Colorado, Cotten Rundell, Brandon Rundell and family, Mickey Rundell and family, all of Texas; granddaughter Tiffany Rundell of Texas; sisters Maggie Robbins and Bonnie Allen; brother Gene Hollenbeck; and numerous nieces and nephews. Her memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Feb. 28 at Lewis and Glenn Funeral Home in Salida. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made at Lewis and Glenn Funeral Home.
