Ekeler sets sights on winning ways

Western Football — A light rain falls from the sky and blankets the Gunnison Valley in a gloom. Despite the practice field resembling a pond after a day-long rain shower, the Western State Colorado University (WSCU) football team is making its way out of the locker rooms in a long line of red and white. There’s a buzz in the air and a pep in their step. The Mountaineers are just 48 hours removed from their first win in a season opener since 1997.
