Warriors take the field

Snow swirled with each large gust of wind at Meadows Park Tuesday afternoon. Temperatures dropped as a storm blew across the Gunnison Valley. Despite the inclement weather, more than 30 kids under the age of 8 were perfecting their lacrosse skills. The West Elk Warriors weren’t about to let the weather deter their fun. While in the second year of its existence, the West Elk lacrosse team is on the rise — and it’s been largely due to the work of Rain Bodine, the director of the program.
