Western overcomes Cowboys at home

Western Football — After losing the last two home games by a combined total of four points, Western State Colorado University football dominated New Mexico Highlands University Cowboys this past Saturday for their first victory of the season. Western defeated the Cowboys 26-16 in front of a home crowd at Mountaineer Bowl.

Western (1-7, 1-7 RMAC) set the tone early, as Rodray Perkins fielded a Highlands (2-6, 1-6 RMAC) punt at Western's 33-yard line before walking into the end zone for the first score of the game.
