Censoring speech a slippery slope

Th ere’s something wrong on many of today’s higher education campuses concerning the right to free speech — a bedrock American principle that should be honored and encouraged by faculty and students alike as a way of progressing beyond monolithic ideas debased with mediocrity.

Granted, this sometimes means exposure to thoughts and ideas which may, especially in the liberal arts field, contradict, disturb or even off end someone’s mindset. But that’s OK. It’s part of the ability to deal with life’s many adversities.
