Hot (and dry) but guess what? No records

It seems as though it really has been hot (and dry) lately with temperatures in the high 80s. We finally got some rain out of those thunderstorms that have been skipping all around us for days, and maybe we'll get more this week. Let's look at some data.

June was warmer (and drier) than usual, as you all thought. Our June average temperature of 58.5 degrees was about 3 degrees above the long-term average, and ditto for both average highs (79) and lows (38). As you are fond of hearing me say, however, none of these temperatures is a record. More on that later.
