Leadership a developed attribute

With 24 years of practical management experience I have discovered that leadership is an acquired attribute. One must continually train to enhance qualifying growth. I have learned that supervisors must not avoid controversy. Striving for perfection can be exasperating, particularly in law enforcement where exacts are impossible. Nevertheless, we strive to be the best that we can be. I have always been approachable and listened with an open heart and mind to grievances, complaints and concerns of citizens and officers.
