Trezise to serve 90 days in jail

Former Gunnison County Deputy Attorney Art Trezise will serve 90 days in jail for his role in tipping off a suspect to an impending search warrant. Judge Terry Ruckriegle — who was appointed to the case — sentenced Trezise Wednesday to the jail time with work release. Trezise also will serve four years supervised probation and 200 hours of community service. The sentence exceeded a recommendation of 60 days in jail made in a pre-sentencing investigative report ordered by the court. Trezise, 45, pleaded guilty last month to a Class 5 felony — accessory to a crime for “rendering assistance” to a person who was suspected of cultivating more than 30 marijuana plants. Trezise was accused of notifying the friend of the suspect about the impending search warrant last May.
