Wilderness can teach a person things. Patience . Perseverance. And to filter your water if you want to keep from getting the runs. Last week , I ventured into the woods for an annual hunting trip. I could have hunted from town, with all the luxuries that civilization affords. But that would be far to easy. Trust me, you haven’t experienced elk hunting until you’ve harvested a 600-pound animal six miles into the wilderness. And you’re alone, it’s dark and starting to rain.
