Student researches community tragedy for advanced learning

On September 11, 1971, a tragedy occurred on Monarch Pass involving a school bus. On this bus was the Gunnison High School Junior Varsity Football Team on their way to Salida for a game. Pat MacIntosh was aboard the bus when it crashed. His recollection is the bus gradually going faster, almost hitting a passing 18 wheeler, skidding through a parking lot, hitting a sign that broke the front windshield and then the bus rolling twice.
