Tailwinds

It was somewhere along the Continental Divide, surrounded by the still snow-tinged peaks of the San Juan Mountains, when it was brought to my attention.

“It’s nice to have a little tailwind,” a guy named Ben pointed out, awakening me to a pleasant fact that I hadn’t noticed. We were indeed being aided in our arduous, foot-powered trek through the mountains — even if ever so slightly — by a helping breeze.
