Curtis 'Lizard' Dorris

Lizard (Curtis) Dorris was born in Clovis, N.M., on May 10, 1948, and died at home on July, 23, with his wife Maggie Dorris and their friend Mollie Carson at his side. Lizard was a lover, a husband, a father, a grandfather, a greatgrandfather, a brother-in-law and a son-in-law. He was a Crested Butte bus driver, a bull rider, a talented archer, a carpenter, a magician and a kind and loving friend to many, many people, including the tourists that he was so fun-loving with on all those trips to and from the Mountain. He loved Maggie, family, his friends, his kids, his nephews and nieces, Bud Light, horses, archery, fishing, fire works, golfing with the Dos Rios crowd, skiing and good fun in general! He was truly a good man and would not want anyone to be sad, as life goes on. In lieu of flowers, make a donation to the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation World Record Chapter, PO Box 1061, Gunnison, CO 81230 — he’d love ya for it! He is survived by his wife Maggie, his son Todd and his daughter Wendy, and Tuck. A celebration of Lizard’s wild and crazy, yet gentle and loving life will be held this summer.
