Tom Paul Willis

“Poppa” Tom Paul Willis left for his eternal home on Tuesday, April 15. Tom, a Gunnison native, was born August 29, 1952, and went on to live a fascinating life. From a family full of musicians, Tom learned from an early age to play guitar, write, sing and produce his heart and soul in song. He was a humble man of God. He was a devoted family man, loved by all who knew him. In his words, he was a “Jack of all trades, master of none.” Tom was idolized by many, especially his children and grandchildren. To tell his life story would take up many papers. Tom leaves behind his loving wife and best friend, Connie Willis. His children, Andrew Willis, Tom Willis, Daniel Willis, Mary Riddle, Jenny Willis, Katherine Willis, Rebecca Willis and Mike Riddle. His grandchildren Daisy, Isabella, Sarah and Ellie Willis, Taylor and Michael Riddle. His brothers, Chuck, Denny and Randy; and his sisters, Mary, Jan, Paulette, Sue and Valerie, as well as many nieces and nephews. He was welcomed in heaven by his parents Tom and Leaetta, his brother Ray and his son Nathan, at peace, resting in the shelter of His love. “You will be secure, because there is hope; you will look about you and take your rest in safety. You will lie down, with no one to make you afraid, and many will court your favor.” Job 11:18-19
