It’s Grand Traverse time

Spring — not so fast! This coming weekend is the 17th running of the GORE-TEX Grand Traverse. Dubbed the “greatest backcountry ski race in North America,” it’s an extraordinary 40-mile backcountry race between Crested Butte and Aspen and is slated to benefit the Crested Butte Nordic Center and other nonprofits. The race starts at midnight on Friday, March 28, at the base of Crested Butte Mountain Resort (CBMR) in front of Butte 66. Racers traverse Colorado’s spectacular Elk Mountains on their route to Aspen.
