Team wins first seasonal state championship in 13 years
It was a perfect end to a long season for Gunnison’s Stingrays. With six state champions and five record-breaking performances at the meet, the Stingrays won seasonal state in Cortez this past weekend for the first time in 13 years. In a hotly contested matchup, Gunni son won by 13 points over Valley of Colorado Springs by a score of 1,808 to 1,821.
