Proposal emphasizes wildlife protection

A group of sportsman have come forward with an alternative plan to preserve public lands in the Gunnison Basin. The proposal has been pitched to Colorado Sen. Michael Bennet. Representatives from Backcountry Hunters and Anglers (BHA) and Trout Unlimited (TU) met with Bennet just above the banks of the Curecanti Creek, west of Gunnison, last Wednesday.
