Tommy C. Hood

Tommy C. Hood died March 12 at the Delta County Memorial Hospital, surrounded by his family. He was born September 4, 1945, in Plainview, Texas, to Clydene and Thelma Hood. In his youth, he worked at several local ranches and was always a cowboy at heart. He was very knowledgeable about horses and years later had a horse breeding facility in Montrose. After graduation from Gunni son High School in 1964, he served in the United States Army and was a Vietnam Veteran. He lived the last years of his life in Delta. During his life he worked primarily in construction and was the owner of T & C Construction for several years in Montrose. He enjoyed fly tying, leather crafting, fishing, camping, hunting, horse back riding, bible studies and visiting with family and friends. He is survived by his wife, Conni Hood of Delta; Natasha Hood, his daughter from a previous marriage; stepdaughter Julie (Shane) Garlock; stepson Mike Palmer; sister Janet (Doug) Metcalf; brother Monty (Deanna) Hood; sisters-in-law Penny (Jerry) Burgess and Bonnie Stickler; and several nieces and nephews. At Tommy’s reques t , he preferred that no funeral services be held. However, the family is planning a celebration of life in his memory this summer.
