Just 11 hours before the start of this year’s Gore-Tex Grand Traverse from Crested Butte to Aspen, race organizers opted to to change the route as a result of dangerous backcountry conditions — turning the race into a Grand “Reverse.” A string of skiers wearing headlamps is seen here above the Friends Hut.
