Steven Paul Sponable

Steven Paul Sponable passed away on April 8. Steve was born in Little Falls, N.Y., on Dec. 9, 1959, to the late Herman E. Sponable and Norma G. Darling. Upon graduating from Dolgeville Central High School in 1979, Steven enlisted in the U.S. Army and was stationed at Ft. Carson in Colorado Springs where he served until he was honorably discharged in 1984. Steven is survived by his daughter Tawnya Sponable and her fiancé Zach Fry; his son, Duane Steven (Misty) Sponable; his five grandchildren, Zebulen K. Fry, Dixie D. Sponable, Cheyenne Hove, and Macey and Meah Billinger; his nephews Tommy Hol ler and fiancé Danielle Snyder, Matthew Holler and great nephew Rylan Holler with another great nephew on the way. Steve leaves behind his sister Sheri (Scott) Bernier, and three brothers Scott (Lisa) Sponable, Shawn (Mary) Sponable and Stacy (Kelly) Sponable. He will be missed by his Uncle Frank and Aunt Evelyn Jaikin and their daughter Victoria (Michael) Jaquay. Steven was loved by his many nieces and nephews: Becky and Brandon Broat; Carie Jaquay; Amy, Shawn, Amber, Cody and Shelby Sponable; Kelsea and Daniel Eagles; Ricky, Little Michael and Ashley Jaquay; Briella, Melissa and Michael Jaquay; Colton Hill; Kyleigh and Hailey Smith; and Isabella Vesp. Tawnya and Duane are hosting a memorial on Sunday, April 27 at 2 p.m. at Duane’s house, 4032 N. Hwy. 135 — look for black/yellow and red/yellow balloons at the turn off. All friends, family, loved ones and acquaintances are welcome to attend to help celebrate the life of this beloved father, brother, uncle and friend.
