Take-aways from City Council tenure

About a year ago, I saw that the Gunnison City Council was seeking someone to fill Stu Ferguson’s seat for the remaining year of his term. I applied for the job, and council hired me. Since then, I’ve been on a crash course of just about every facet of the city.

I’ve learned so much about its history, what keeps it alive and functioning, and what it may look like in the future. With reluctance, I decided not to run for a seat on City Council this year, so my seat is open to some great candidates. Here are some the big takeaways from my short time on Gunnison City Council.
